Theme: Housing and the city: livability, equity and well-being Housing serves as a major type of social infrastructure for cities around the globe, and has played a pivotal role in promoting and sustaining livability, equity and wellbeing for urban citizens across the world. However, there are long lasting and deep-rooted problems of reduced livability, exacerbated inequalities and worsening wellbeing associated with the housing systems in Asia-Pacific cities, especially under the Covid-19 pandemic. The APNHR 2022 conference seeks to become an occasion that brings together scholars across Asia-Pacific countries and beyond to tackle these problems. Through sharing latest housing research from various locales and multiple disciplines, wisdoms from scholars can help to promote housing policies and practices that enable cities to become places of opportunities, livability, inclusiveness, healthiness and prosperity for all residents.
Topics (include but are not limited to): 1. Housing policy and housing construction 2. Housing affordability and affordable housing provision 3. Land, housing development and planning 4. Urban resilience and urban livability 5. Urbanization models and migrants’ housing issues 6. Housing financialization: modes and social-economic impacts 7. Housing inequality and social mobility 8. Housing rights, urban rights and residents' well-being 9. Green housing and urban sustainability 10. Housing, community and the digitalization of urban governance 11. Innovative models of urban planning and housing provision in future cities 12. Age-specific housing, elderly housing and community-based elderly care
The conference organizing committee aims to organize a special issue entitled “Housing and the City: policy, equity and wellbeing” to be published in a SSCI journal. If you are interested in being considered for this special issue, please indicate in your submission, and ensure your paper is original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

Important Dates: Abstract submission deadline: March 31, 2022 Notice of Acceptance: April 30, 2022 Full paper submission deadline: May 31, 2022
Registration Fee: It will be free for those attending online. For those attending the conference physically in Shanghai, the registration fee will be 300 RMB/50 USD for students, 600 RMB/100 USD for non-student researchers, and 900 RMB/150 USD for non-academic participants. Conference materials, up to four meals and tea/coffee breaks will be provided for those have paid registration fee.
